DURANGO, MEXICO TRAVEL WEBSITE

(Spring 2022) Web Design Class Project

Client: Student Project

Challenge: Create a travel website for any real or fictional place in the world.

HTML • CSS • LAYOUT & TYPOGRAPHY • IMAGE EDITING

SUBLIME TEXT • ADOBE PHOTOSHOP • NETLIFY

Travel websites are usually very informative and have tons of information, but I wanted to narrow it down to intriguing details in a one-page scroll format. I wanted to capture the interest of the viewer and hopefully lead them to be more interested in the most underrated (bias) region of Mexico.

La Ciudad de Durango in Mexico has a rich culture and heritage which allowed me to have some creative imagery, food and tourist destinations to cover while maintaining the “fun and old western vibe” with the typography and animations.

The copy text for the site was translated from Spanish travel blogs and informational articles. With the aim to stay true to the area, the colors are meant to represent the area. The green for the Mexican Flag, cactuses, snakes, and the other orange representing the dirt/sand, mines and food of the area. The cream just compliments both of the colors nicely.
