CINCINNATI ART MUSEUM ANNUAL REPORT

(Spring 2022) Layout Design Class Project

Client: Student Project

Challenge: Create a unique and interesting magazine out of information/material that can be incredibly dull while staying on brand and still featuring all the copy text and images required.

LAYOUT • TYPOGRAPHY

ADOBE INDESIGN • ADOBE PHOTOSHOP

The potentially most dull yearly report that will either depress or excite shareholders meets good design which tells the story of the diverse Cincinnati Art Museum (CAM) 2021 fiscal year.

Its broad and amazingly unique collection of more than 67,000 works allowed me to explore some creative imagery choices (particularly with the cover and break pages) while maintaining the professional feel needed for such an important document with typography and layout.

The copy text for the annual report was from the CAM publicly released 2021 annual report and in the end, consisted of 32 pages with information about the Museum’s exhibitions, acquisitions, statistics, donors, and more. With the aim to stay on brand, our colors were limited to red, black, and white challenging us to make design decisions (with different variations of those colors, fonts, and layouts) to separate us from the rest of the class.
